Privacy policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Lakehouse Digest is a small, independent publication. This page explains what data this site collects, why, and how advertising on this site works.
What we collect
- Analytics: we log anonymous pageview counts and anonymous interaction events (notebook downloads, outbound affiliate-link clicks, sponsorship-inquiry clicks), plus basic request metadata (page visited, timestamp, approximate location from the request) to understand which articles and resources readers find useful. This data is not sold and is not linked to your identity. No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser.
- Contact: if you email us, we receive whatever you send — name, address, and message — and use it only to reply.
- Newsletter signup: when signup launches, we will store the email address you provide solely to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
Your browser can also be set to block cookies; note that blocking cookies may affect how parts of this site function.
Affiliate links
Some pages contain affiliate links to learning providers such as DataCamp. Those links are labeled "sponsored." If you click one and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those providers handle your data under their own privacy policies.
Third-party links
This site links to external resources, including official Databricks documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Children
This site is a technical resource for working engineers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the new policy will apply from that date.
